About the Program

All EKU faculty (full-time and part-time) teaching at least one General Education course are encouraged to participate in the EngaGE program. The core of EngaGE is transformation and innovation. That is, the program is focused on providing the structure, support, and encouragement for all faculty to incorporate innovative teaching approaches into their General Education courses.

The program process:

  • Faculty new to EKU and to teaching General Education are introduced to the program through an introductory workshop during New Faculty Orientation (NFO).
  • Faculty are invited to submit projects for Course Innovation & Transformation awards ($500 each), while working alongside EngaGE Mentors.
  • Faculty reimagine General Education pedagogy in collaboration with peers in the Teaching Circle and receive access to introductory and ongoing resources, including the EngaGE Institute and annual Seminar series.
  • Faculty share their redesigns at the annual EngaGE Showcase and receive university-level recognition.
